14th Annual Health Freedom Walk to Memorialize Underground Railroad Journey

The 14th Annual Health Freedom Celebration Walk is taking place on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Druid Hill Park – Chinese Pavilion. The three-mile walk is designed to provide Maryland residents the opportunity to learn about Baltimore’s important role in the Underground Railroad utilized by 19th century slaves by walking in honor of an assigned abolitionist, Quaker, free Black or freedom seeker. Walking groups or “Circle of Friends” groups are assembled 6 weeks prior to the walk to get individuals in shape for the big day.  The walking groups are led by trained Volunteer leaders called “Conductors”.

Recruitment for Walking Leaders is now underway.  The training is FREE! The Circle of Friends Walking Groups will begin in April.

It is time for us to take charge of our lives. Finding our “health freedom” can be one of the most rewarding experiences in our lives.  Make this your best year, the year of “Health Freedom”.
